How long does it take to update a resume?
Depending on current demand for my services, my lead time before I can start a project varies, but generally it’s anywhere from zero to 2-3 weeks. I might be able to offer rush service if I think my schedule will allow for it, but I won’t offer it if doing so would keep me from honoring
committments to work already in progress. It normally takes about 2 weeks to update a resume. Sometimes I can offer rush services but it depends on my current schedule. I normally only work on 2 or 3 projects at one time. This is so I can properly focus on my clients. The total length of time varies based on the level of changes needed. I like to work closely with my clients but be flexible with how they like to accomplish the change. Some people prefer filling out forms, some would rather meet and talk while I do the heavy lifting and some prefer a hybrid approach. Another factor is client availability. I usually create an initial draft, have the client review it, a second draft, have the client review it and a final. If a client has availability issues, the time frame can extend. I would like a client to take no longer than 3 days to review drafts.
Why Do your services cost what they do? Can't I use Chat or Fiverr?
If you really wanted to, you could use ChatGPT or a resume generator. Just like any product, you can always find lower cost resume writers. ChatGPT or a website that generates a draft for you or a $5 resume from Fiverr. Those options are NOT personalized, and you get what you pay for. In this job market it's essential to be able to stand out. You want a resume that describes YOU, how you are different and what you bring to any potential employer. This can only be done with customized services. You need a resume that gets the attention of a recruiter in 10 seconds or less and gets you off the pile and into an interview.
I also offer flexible hourly rates for assisting you with whatever you may need. Linked In profile updates, extra training, interview preparation, writing services, cover letters and more. While the hourly rate may appear to be high, I don’t charge for every minute I work for you, I charge a rate that gets you the services that you need.
I have over 20 years working in Fortune 500 companies in HR and IT. I am a certified career coach and LinkedIn profile expert. I’m familiar with the responsibilities and details of many of the jobs I write resumes for. Using a professional resume writer will ensure you get a quality product that is optimized for your target job. I am a member of the National Resume Writers Association (NWRA) so I have access to resources and best practices.

What is the process to identify my services?
My process starts with a free informational session where we discuss your career needs. Please click here for a description of the services I offer. Resumes are customized, ATF-compatible and formatted for readability in Microsoft Word and PDF formats. LinkedIn profile optimization and updates can be bundled with resumes for discount pricing. Any need for
hourly career services will be discussed at our initial meeting. Clients often start with a single service (ie a resume) then return for additional services (ie interview preparation) as they move through their job search. To save money for my clients, I can also offer lower cost options for ‘do it yourself’ packages for job searching, interviewing and networking. My goal is to stay as flexible as clients need me to be to help them through their journey.
After our initial meeting I work up a proposal listing out the suggested service, cost and delivery date. Work can be into separate phases and I will be separately for each deliverable.
It should be noted that I will never charge more than agreed upon costs in the proposal. I’m very open to discussion and negotiation around what services are needed and when.
If we agree on services, I send out an invoice, contractual agreement and work begins after payment!
